Arnaldo Abruzzini, Secretary General of Eurochambres, was the guest speaker on the IV FBP Business Forum, held on the 19th of May at the Círculo Ecuestre in Barcelona.
The event was presided by Miquel Valls, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and Vice President of Eurochambres.
Mr. Abruzzini has been Secretary General of Eurochambres, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, since 1999. He had also opened the II FBP Conference held in Brussels on the 12th and the 13th of May, 2014.
He is a senior lobbyist in Brussels and represents the voice of over 20 million companies through members in 43 countries and a network of 1.700 regional and local Chambers. He is also an active entrepreneur, having founded several companies. He still owns shares in telecommunication (Interactive Media), energy (InRes) and business consulting (Consir) firms.
Mr. Abruzzini has worked as Managing Director of several companies active in telecommunication (EPTA), marketing and communication (MediaCamere) and business advices (CoFiCom), in Italy and the US.
He has also served in the financial sector, actively working in Investment Banking (MedioBanca) and Insurance companies (Bavaria). He started his career as auditor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1979 (Arthur Andersen). Born in Rome (Italy) on 5 August 1957, he is a graduate in Economics with a major in Finance from the University of Rome. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish, apart from his mother tongue.
